The Amazon Princess

Without further ado, here she is, in all her glory…the Amazon Princess: Wonder Woman.

For those who are unaware, I drew this image on my Google Galaxy Nexus using Sketchbook Mobile.

There were some tough parts, but all in all, I think it turned out rather nice.

After I finished the main image, I searched Flickr for a nice background image that suited the “Amazon” feel. I found the featured Creative Commons License image by Flickr user anttisimonen.

After I found the background image, I exported the Wonder Woman image as a .psd and imported it into Photoshop on my desktop. Due to the canvas size limitations of Sketchbook Mobile, I had to use Photoshop to create the other half of the lasso and the section of her missing right hand.

I did this by copying the pixels instead of creating them in photoshop.

I then resized the image a bit to make it a nice 1440x1280, suitable for a Galaxy Nexus Wallpaper.

Sivan, thanks for the request. I enjoyed making this image. I hope it lives up to you “full” expectations. lol.

I started this drawing about five days ago following a request from Google+ user Sivan Rehan after I posted my first DrawnOnAndroid piece, Spiderman.

Simply "Wonder"ful

I’ve been working on the requested piece off and on and thought I’d share the latest.

The hair is rough and will be done better in the final. I added a left hand which will be holding the golden lasso. Also, the head/face is starting to take shape.

Really enjoying putting this together. Thanks Sivan Rehan for the request.

Coming Along "Wonder"fully

This is the first lines image of the first requested Drawn On Android image (requested by Sivan Rehan).

Again, I’m drawing this on my GalaxyNexus using the Sketchbook Mobile app and a meat stylus (my finger).

As with the “pencils” sketch, these lines came as I was halfway watching “Zombie Strippers.

Drawing on a phone using your finger is not exactly an easy process, however, I’m becoming quite accustomed to it. The flexibility and tools of Sketchbook Mobile make it my app of choice for drawing.

I hope to add a tablet to my arsenal (very interested in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1) to see what I can do with a larger screen. The GNex will do for now.

Off to a "Wonder"ful Start

This is the rough “pencils” of my first requested project for the Drawn On Android series. The request was made on Google+ by Sivan Rehan on Sunday morning (early early morning) after I posted a comment on the Spiderman image asking if anyone had a request.

As with the Spiderman image, I’m drawing this on my GalaxyNexus using the #SketchbookMobile app and a meat stylus (my finger).

I made the sketch last night while laying in bed watching “Zombie Strippers.” That movie – starring ex-adult film star Jenna Jameson and “Freddy Kruger” himself, Robert Englund – is pretty bad, but has some good spots and some pretty cool effects (at one point a zombie stripper is telling a guy she likes his tongue, then proceeds to rip his head in half at the mouth to get to his tongue.

I kinda half-watched the movie as I made the rough outline, then proceded to do some line work (see next post).

THWIP!

The main image of Spiderman was drawn on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus using Sketchbook Mobile and a meat stylus (aka: my finger). I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I borrowed a photo of New York City from Flickr user Ed Gaillard for the background, which I then blurred in photoshop on my computer.

I exported the Spiderman image from Sketchbook Mobile as a .psd and then opened it in Photoshop and put it over the buildings.

Looks very nice as the new background on my Galaxy Nexus…something poetic about your device’s wallpaper being created (or at least somewhat created) on the device itself.
